Jesus is our Lord and Saviour; therefore, we are to:
> Worship God in inspiring, diverse, and creative ways
> Be a community engaged in spiritual practices that attune us to the Holy Spirit's guidance for our living
> Welcome all people in their diversity to worship, learn, and serve with us
> Be a safe place to learn, explore, and debate
> Be generous stewards of the gifts God has given each of us to bless others and care for the natural world
> Continue outreach to, and further develop connections with, the academic communities of Alachua County
> Affirm human rights and work for social justice

UELC is a Christian Church.

Lutherans are Protestant Christians who trace our history back to the reform ideas and theology of Martin Luther, the father of the Protestant Reformation. Martin Luther rejected the Central Teachings of the Catholic Church in year 1597 when he nailed his 95 theses to the church door at Wittenberg, Germany. Worldwide there are approximately 70 million Christian Lutherans.

University Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and of the Florida-Bahamas Synod of the ELCA.

Our Mission: of University Lutheran Church and Campus Ministry is: To INVITE people to gather as a Christian family; to SHARE in worship, prayer and the sacraments; and to SERVE as disciples of Christ’s teaching.

Our name: The name, University Evangelical Lutheran Church, reflects our location directly across University Avenue from the University of Florida. With this prime location we are able to have a church family which unites community congregation members with undergraduate and graduate students in our Campus Ministry program, as well as faculty and staff of the university. We share in Sunday worship and support each other personally and in many activities.

Our Office hours are: Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m
