| When
the day of Pentecost came, the believers all gathered in one place. Suddenly
a sound came from heaven. It was like a strong wind blowing.
They saw something that looked like tongues of fire.
All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit. The crowd was really amazed
when they understood the believers speaking in languages from every part
of the world! So goes the story of the first Pentecost from the book of the Acts of the Apostles. At ULC, the believers captured something of the sights and sounds with dramatic flame-colored streamers waving in procession. The children lit up a map with paper flames indicating parts of the world touched by the Holy Spirit that first Pentecost. |
